Rent Reasonableness Manager

The Rent Reasonableness Manager will assist housing authorities in determining if the contract rent being charged for a subsidized unit is reasonable compared to other non-subsidized units in similar locations. The Rent Reasonableness Manager will track comparable units and requested units by location, features, and amenities.

The comparison categories are completely definable by the housing authority. The housing authority can define all location, feature, and amenity categories and point value for each section.

The housing authority can also define areas. Areas allow the agency to perform the comparison by a particular location. The comparison by area allows the agency to compare units not only by features and amenities, but also ensures the units are in the same geographical area.

The certification process will perform a comparison of comparable units to the requested unit to determine if the rent is reasonable. This process will also generate a certification form.
